What is my English Vocabulary Level? Quick FREE Test

Take a 12 minute self-test to find out your CEFR level


Are you curious about your English vocabulary level? Do you want to know how you compare to other English language learners? If so, this quick and free test is for you!


This test is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), which is an international standard for describing language proficiency. The CEFR has six levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2, with A1 being the lowest level and C2 being the highest.

Once you have finished the test, tally up your score and compare it to the CEFR level system below:


Test Score and CEFR Level ​27 - 36: C1 - C2 Advanced / Proficient 19 - 26: B2 Upper-intermediate 12 - 18: B1 Intermediate 6 - 11: A2 Pre-intermediate ​0 -5: A1 Beginner
